Troubleshooting

Run this first:

stacktaste doctor

Not logged in#

stacktaste login

Token sources, in order: STACKTASTE_TOKEN, OS keychain, ~/.config/stacktaste/credentials (mode 0600). Doctor warns if the file fallback is in use.

Grant missing this project#

Login again and pick the project. Grants are additive. The key is one project per machine grant.

Drift#

Local ids do not match cloud. stacktaste sync pushes proposed items, then pulls.

stacktaste check pulls first if you are behind.

Secrets#

Title or body looks like a credential, private key, or .env dump. Remove it. The API and CLI both scan.

Repo not linked#

stacktaste init

Already linked: pass --reinit to switch project or path.

Cursor not seeing taste#

1. stacktaste status — agents should include cursor.
2. stacktaste agents add cursor if missing.
3. Reload the Cursor window.
4. Confirm .cursor/mcp.json and .cursor/hooks.json exist.
